Liverpool failed to win in the Premier League for the first time in 17 matches when Manchester United held them to a draw Sunday at Old Trafford. This is the second time the team has failed to win this season after Napoli got the best of Liverpool in the first matchday of the Champions League group stage. In their previous Group E match, they were made to sweat by Red Bull Salzburg before pulling out the win late. They come into the third matchday sitting in second, one point behind the Italians and with a better goal differential than Salzburg. Three points against Genk would be a welcome sight for Jurgen Klopp’s side, especially coming off dropped points in the league.

Genk won’t go down easily as they proved in the team’s last group match against Napoli, holding the leaders to a scoreless draw at home. They’ve proven that they’ll make it difficult for top teams to come into their stadium and walk out with three points. Unfortunately for Genk, its European form hasn’t translated domestically, as it sits in just sixth in the Belgian Pro League table through 10 matches. Their current form isn’t much to speak about either as they’ve lost two of their last four matches. While it’s clear to see that they’ll be a difficult matchup for Liverpool, they’re still the underdogs.
